Sesame Chicken

With Jasmine Rice

It’s a delicious treat to your taste buds. Being a fan of Asian dish one can’t miss it. We all know amazing health benefits of sesame and in this dish we are employing it to get most of it. Sesame seeds add much needed crunch to this dish. Jasmine rice makes it a wholesome meal and not to forget much needed bok choy that completes the dish in a perfect manner.

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast
  • 1 ½ cup jasmine rice
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 3 scallions
  • Bok choy
  • Cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoon soy glaze
  • 2 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 4 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon black and white sesame seeds
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions


1. Organize your ingredients

It’s very important to organise the ingredients before you start cooking. It also helps in avoiding mess in kitchen. Most importantly wash all the fresh produces.
1. Cut chicken breast into small square shape pieces
2. Chop the garlic
3. Chop scallions also, separate the green and white part, cut them separately
4. Chop the bok Choy
5. Marinate Chicken - After cleaning and cutting the chicken, mix corn starch, salt and pepper in it. Leave it for 10 minutes before you cook it.


2. Cook the jasmine rice

1. First and foremost clean and soak the rice in a bowl.
2. Take a small pot, put rice in it, pinch of salt and 2 ½ cup of water, let it boil on high, once water boils then reduce the heat .
3. You can see when water is completely absorbed, check whether rice is cooked or not, if cooked then remove it from heat and mix lime zest to it.


3. Cook Bok-choy

First cook the bok choy, take a frying pan and heat 2 tablespoon of oil in it, add the bok choy and garlic. Let it cook for some time, put salt and pepper in it. Stir it and cook it till it looks bright green, the moment it looks cooked and little wilted separate it in a plate.


4. Cook Chicken

Second step will be cooking chicken. In the same pan add some oil and heat it. Once oil is hot then add chicken to it, cook it for 4-5 minutes both side till it looks golden brown.


5. Prepare Curry

Reduce the flame and add bokchoy, white bottoms of the scallions, sesame oil, soy glaze, remaining vinegar, half of the sesame seeds and half cup of water, also add red pepper flakes depending upon how spicy you want your dish to be. Keep stirring it; let it be on a medium flame till chicken and bok choy are fully covered in the gravy. Thickness of the gravy can be maintained according to your taste. Now remove it from the flame and season it with salt and pepper.


6. Plate the Dish
